The Wall Sconce Hack

Wall Sconces without wiring.

This is such an easy trick that anyone could do, thankfully I had my handy dandy husband for the actual hanging of the sconces.

Lets start from the beginning.
First you will need the wall sconces. You could do this with basically any mounted wall sconce. These are the ones I chose:

Next, you will need a drill, or a screw driver. This is just so you can mount the actual bracket on the wall
(the silver thing that would normally mount to the electrical band). After this, the actual wall sconce slides
over that and you add the screw covers like you normally would.

The next item is the puck lights, this is the actual hack. You are going to want to use lights that come with a remote, otherwise you will have to remove the puck and press it every time you want to use your new sconces.

These are the puck lights I ended up going with (I highly recommend):

They are the absolute perfect size for laying on the socket base, they are remote control, dimmable
AND can be set on a timer!

I had originally planned to just stop at lowes and buy 2 puck lights, but the hardware stores tend to only carry the LED ones and that just wouldn't look right. So Amazon it was!
Disclaimer: You will need 6 AAA batteries for two lights, the remotes include their battery.

I am already planning where I am going to put the next set of these. I'm so impressed with how they look with the puck lights. The remote controls are definitely a game changer!

I also think these would look fantastic as bed side lights. They come with two remotes, so with one set of the lights you could easily do two rooms + still have two lights left over.

Happy New Year!
XO,
Shelby C.
